With a strong focus on quality, company growth was accelerated and allowed Virtech to drive solar battery suppliers in order to successfully compete in markets in Harare. Why Solar energy?

A clean source.
No greenhouse gas emissions are released into the atmosphere when you use solar panels to create electricity. And because the sun provides more energy than we'll ever need, electricity from solar power is a very important energy source in the move to clean energy production.

The Cost-Benefit analysis:

A cost benefit analysis used to determine the feasibility using solar photovoltaic (PV) as an alternative power source. The capital cost and other cost are valued in the process. Results indicated that using solar photovoltaic modules is a feasible option and is comparable to the existing conventional grid power mode of operation. The difference between the present value of benefits of using the PV grid tied system and that of using conventional grid power supply was 4.5% for the WWTP. Due to the highly subsidized price of electrical power in Zimbabwe the payback period analysis showed 20.9 years and 66.8 years for the grid tied and standalone PV system, respectively.
